About
above all things, i am a writer.Following
I’ve been thinking of a way to say thank you for making Battle Studies such a huge success out of the gate… I’ve also been thinking of a way to use tumblr as a means of posting some more substantial stuff… So here’s a very raw, live solo version of “Edge of Desire” I just recorded in my apartment as a way to show my gratitude to you all for extending my time in this amazing career you’ve helped me build.
I think if you were kind enough to spent the 13 bucks, you should get some free music for the next good while.
So here it is. A song about late night longing recorded at 3am. iPhone dinging in the background and all…(that’s how I knew the take was going to be worth sticking with, as the best takes always get interrupted.)
Thank you.
More to come…
John

…Lasso the moon.
I tell you, there is nothing like turn of the millennium rap music to put me in a great mood.
“Get Low” by Lil Jon & the Eastside Boyz is currently blaring through my speakers.
It’s like a middle school dance up in hurr.
Ahhh.
I LOVE IT.
Oh, man.
Songs like these are totally the reason Daisy’s joke in Funny People was so great:
“Why do rap songs always tell girls what to do? ‘Hey you, bend over…drop it like it’s hot.’ I’m gonna make a rap song and tell guys what to do. ‘Hey you, brush your teeth. Take off that jacket; I’m cold.’”
Adam Sandler is my favorite.
So, an allergy commercial was just on with a cartoon man who looked like George Clooney.
Quite odd. But better than the talking bee, amiright?
mmmhmmmmmmm + (noodle head weave)
I made chocolate peanut butter cookies and whoa, baby, are they delicious.
Yesterday, there was a license plate on the car in front of me that said SPRTA.
It was beyond cool.
There is a bonsai tree seller right by campus.
I’ve never wanted one before, but now I reallllllly want a bonsai tree.
And a Venus fly trap.
AND a burrito.
Because there is a burrito seller right by campus too.
Why are there all these independent stands near campus tempting us to purchase weird, unnecessary stuff? We’re poor college kids!
Worst chore? Cleaning the litter.
None of the candles I have smell as good as the cupcake one from Coach House Gifts.
Even my awesome jasmine one. It just can’t compete.
These ads on facebook are getting really ridiculous.
This one was on there a couple of days ago:
And then this one was there today:
Really? Come on, now.
I can’t stop reading Shakespeare’s sonnet 73
Honestly, one of the most delicately beautiful poems ever written.
If you’ve never read it, do so. It’s amazing.
The saying “get ‘r done” makes me cringe.
Pocahontas is a lovely film.
I want a raccoon.
I don’t want a hummingbird, though.
Actually, scratch that. I DO want a hummingbird.
See, I was trying to think of reasons why hummingbirds wouldn’t be awesome.
This was my thought process:
They are really small;
Kind of like oversized moths.
Man, I hate moths.
At least moths don’t have beaks.
Oh, dude! What if the hummingbird poked me with it’s beak?
It’d be flying all over the place, too, with it’s super-speedy wings.
I’d have to chase it all the time.
!!!!!!!
Like a snitch!
HOLY COW!
Thus, hummingbirds are freaking fantastic and I want one.
I am saa-huuuutch a nerd.
That was the word “such” pronounced in the style of Dr. Cox.
He’d be proud. Oh, yes.
The Ting Tings are wonderful.
There is a silver dress at Deb that has been dubbed The Ting Tings dress.
Someday I’ll buy it.
Floop is a madman, help us, save us!
Ah, I was totally about to call this note random, then I thought of communitychannel’s version of random and realized mine doesn’t entirely qualify. Then I started laughing a LOT.
Natalie Tran is hilarious.
I have a love/hate relationship with procrastination.
And so: It’s homework time!
Shoot, son! Yeeeeaaah!
Ha, this was fun.

I blame college and 15 page papers for taking me away from blogging.
Regardless, hi again! :)
Check out my video?
Anybody remember Furby?
I have absolutely no idea what the premise of the movie would be, but I often find myself wishing they would make a School of Rock 2.
Today was very low for me.
I cried for half of it.
But music turned everything completely around.
Completely.
I love that.

And, man.
I want a Patrick Verona.
